After releasing SQL server 2016 on 1st June 2016, now Microsoft has released its first service pack(SP1). This package can be applied to existing SQL Server 2016 installations. It has cumulative updates and contains
- Hot fixes that were included in SQL Server 2016 Cumulative Update 1 CU1, CU2 and CU3.
- Faster transaction performance from In-memory OLTP.
- Data warehousing or data mart performance features such as partitioning, compression, change data capture, database snapshot.
- Row-level security and dynamic data masking are being made available to Express edition for the first time.
