With Visual Studio 2019, we can choose how to install visual studio updates. The product update option includes
- Download all, then install (default option) - Allows to continue using Visual Studio while updates are being downloaded. With this option, we must finish the installation by opening visual studio installer and click on Continue.
- Install while downloading - Installation happens with download
Note: With Download all, then install, Visual studio updates are downloaded in the background when your machine is in idle state. After the download is completed, we will get notification inside the visual studio for installation.
Menu Navigation:
To select the option, go to Visual Studio > Tools > Options > Product updates > Installation mode.
